I'm sorry about the trouble with your Helix Native. Here's instructions from Line6 Tech Support from the thread: I know this seems like an authorization issue but maybe it's worth a shot to completely remove Native and start fresh. There are a number of other threads as well so it has definitely been an issue for people using Mac. I did a little digging on the topic on the Line6 forum and maybe there is some info in this thread that could be useful. It's frustrating so I hope you get it solved!

I also did a trial of Gig Performer a few months back which had no issues at our rehearsal space either. I've been using Cantible 3 which is a VST host but tried it in Reaper and successfully used it there with WiFi disabled. I have never had my laptop on a wired connection and my authorization was done using WiFi. I checked in my device manager and didn't see anything else I could disable as far as networking so if there is something else I should be looking at or trying let me know and I'd be glad to test it out. I'm not sure if I'm just lucky or if there is some other reason related to me being on a Windows machine. Last night at home I disabled my WiFi adapter completely and I still had no errors, crashes, or problems with Native launching and operating correctly. but I'm only running Native in a VST host and it's been very stable so I haven't seen a need to disable it right now. Yeah I know it's recommended to optimize your computer for audio/recording etc. I had no reason to disable my WiFi but have had no issues or crashes with Native running without any internet connection.
Our rehearsal space has no WiFi at all and very poor cell reception so even if I needed to tether my laptop to my phone it would not work out too good.

I use an older Windows 7 laptop and have been using Native on it for probably 6 or 8 months now. Not sure if this will be of help or not but I'll give my experience with it so far. I find this topic interesting as I've had zero issues with regards to WiFi and Native running on my laptop. Why would you ever expect WiFi to be necessary to run a plugin? As I recall, I turned WiFi off that evening because I kept receiving pop-up prompts to connect with a particular network (Telstra Air, for the Aussies in the house). There was a lot of trackpad action that night. To top it off my MIDI controller had connection issues also and I did the show without even a volume pedal. Definitely was a tough learning experience. Ultimately I couldn't figure out exactly what the problem was so I just flipped over to Bias FX. Even the keyboard player (a guy who really knows his laptop rig ****) was scratching his head.

It wasn't high financial stakes (is it ever in the jazz fusion world?) but my professional pride was dented. DAW crash after crash, glaring band members. And I now understand what happened on a session late last year.Īlmost exactly the same thing happened to me in a rehearsal just hours prior to a live filming/recording.
